My wife and I are "Cyberagents" for Willow, as independent contractors, and have been doing so for about 5 months. We take emergency roadside assistant calls. We can work in 1/2 hour increments. I do it part time, and my wife does it full time. There are initial steps in the process, but it has worked out well for us, and is convenient. It also solved the expensive babysitting issue. And for myself - I can wake up on a Saturday with messy hair, log on the phone and work a few hours, and who know?

Re: I take Call Center calls from Home
Wed, March 9, 2005 - 5:58 AMThat sounds great!... How is the pay? How does your phone service work?? Do you have a soft IP phone and a laptop with VPN? Company provided? -

Re: I take Call Center calls from Home
Mon, March 28, 2005 - 11:17 PMIt typically averages $10-$13 per hour, and depending on who you contract for you can be compensated per call, per minute, or sometimes per hour.
I establish a VPN connection, and then log into the actual client's software that I have on my own system. We are not allowed to use a Soft IP phone. A regular inexpensive regular non-business phone line was installed at my home with NO features on it. I had to pay for training, and am responsible for my computer/office stuff, but the flexibility is cool.
You must have high speed internet available though... -
